La Boule is a small mine near Le Kaymar, known for good green fluorite, sometimes in combination with cerussite and secondary copper alteration minerals. What is less common are very interesting acicular pyromorphite specimens, showing cream yellow to white 'calcic' color crystals on quartz-fluorite and oxides. In 2002, a fortuitous and small discovery was made by a local prospector, that produced a few unusually beautiful tridimensional specimens of manganese oxides concretions and geodes, dusted with beautiful acicular cream color pyromorphite. Here is the best specimen from the discovery, that I acquired a couple years ago: it features a very rich coating of yellow pyromorphite needles over cascading psilomelane stalactites, pristine and complete all around. Notice some unidentified micro green balls occur as well on the oxides, possibly plumbogummite.A superb locality and French systematics specimen!
