Description
Here is a wonderful specimen of highly classic and sought after calcite from the Egremont, England! Part of the Cumberland iron field, Egremont is historically and worldwide famous for outstanding quality calcites, with very distinctive crystal habits and sometimes twins. Here is your opportunity to acquire a fantastic representative specimen from the locality, showing very unusual composition with bicolor crystals: a geode of glossy gem and clear modified scalenohedrons (up to 3.5 cm) and a top side featuring heavily included (with iron oxides probably) black crystals. This makes for a fantastic contrast and display. Probably from Bigrigg mine. From an old French collection from Annecy. Comes with high end custom-made acrylic base for display.
